Andrej Stefanov received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia, 1996. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. During the summer 2000, he was with the Advanced Development Group, Hughes Network Systems, Germantown, MD. He was an assistant professor at the electrical and computer engineering department of the Polytechnic Institute of NYU (Brooklyn Poly) between 2001 and 2008. He was a visiting scientist in the electrical and computer engineering department of Northeastern University, Boston, MA, between 2009 and 2011. He is presently on the Faculty of IBU Skopje, Macedonia. Dr. Stefanov is the recipient of the IEEE Benelux Joint Chapter Best Paper Award at IEEE VTC-Fall 1999, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He served as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2006-2008. His research interests are in communication theory, wireless and mobile communications, wireless networks, and channel coding.
